I was thinking both those Marlin 336 "SC's" I was talking about in 30-30 & .35 Rem Caliber were Mfg in the early 1960's. I see now on the Table posted on this site Marlin didn't use several Alphabetical Letter's in their Serial Number Prefix codes like "I", "O" "Q" and "X".

My 1965 Marlin Golden 39A has "AA" at the beginning of its serial number. -Marlin's made in the North Haven factory will have a "JM" stamped on the barrel where the barrel meets the stock.
